Offshore Gas Storage facility representing approximately 75% of UK gas storage to the National Transmission System (NTS), providing 10% of the daily UK gas requirements during season peaks and is of strategic importance to the UK energy market.
Description of services
The Energy and Power team undertook the project management of the increase in gas storage compression duties, gas turbines upgrade and compression equipment change-out including all engineering verification.
Energy and Power supported the development throughout the project lifecycle from the scope definition for the contract through the project approval and sanction process to execution. We provided engineering specialists to supplement to existing Centrica Storage teams both on a permanent and an as required basis. In addition to this we provided engineering verification for both storage and power generation associated with the gas turbines.
Energy and Power supported the upgrade of compression, studying options for compressor selection, specifying compression and process modifications and undertaking engineering for purchase and subsequent engineering verification. We undertook engineering verification under our quality plan aligned to the client’s procedures. Pilbara LNG Liquefaction Plant.
