Feasibility and option identification review for Power Generation
Statement of Relevance
A review was undertaken of the feasibility of landing gas in Malta and using this gas for the generation of electricity. The options identified were evaluated from an initial technical feasibility perspective and capital cost estimates, based on company expenses (without backup) were developed.
Description of services
Energy and Power undertook an independent option identification review for LNG regassificaction, power generation and pipelines. The principal components of our feasibility study are:
- Gas pipeline;
- 1000 MW of gas turbine generation;
- Power cable link;
- LNG storage tanks, small scale LNG production;
- LNG regassification plant;
- LNG jetty;
- Integration of power, desalination and LNG regassification processes.
