Statement of Relevance
EON contracted Energy and Power to perform an electrical power supply study from the Croatian Grid.
Description of services
To meet the required overall terminal availability of 99.5% it is necessary for the external power supply to be essentially 100% available. This is normally achieved by using two independent feeders. The study involved discussion with the Croatian Power Company (HEP) to establish the current power supply arrangements to the island of Krk, identify the possible future needs in the area and assess the probability of securing the required supply. The study made various recommendations including the award of a detailed study to a Croatian electrical design institute. Of particular importance was the effect of the local environmental conditions on the power supply e.g. electrical storms and salt laden air.
