Project Selection, Technical Support and Cost Estimate
Statement of Relevance
The Chuditch field was discovered by Shell in 1999 and located in a water depth of approximately 100 m in the Timor Sea. The field is expected to contain gas and condensate and is a possible candidate for conversion of the gas to saleable liquids e.g. methanol, diesel or LNG as an alternative to a pipeline to shore. Energy and Power was contracted to assess the current development plan and undertook cost and technical assessment of the FLNG option.
Description of Services
Several options exist for the development of this gas/condensate field comprising some 1-2 TCF. The main options are a pipeline to shore, transport to Tassie Shoals for conversion to methanol or liquefaction to LNG and export to Japan or Korea.
The main scope of work comprised two elements:
- the development of an outline FLNG concept with associated CAPEX and OPEX costs for comparison with the other options.
- a review of the proposed production sharing contract
